Besides Samsung Wave ,this opera mini will also work in other Samsung bada devices also like Samsung Wave Y, Samsung Wave M.

Live wallpaper running on Bada 2.0 ( video )

Hi friends , our prediction has come true . Live wallpapers are finally available on bada . A video has been posted by Russian blogger which shows live wallpapers running on an unreleased Bada device.
The device runs Bada 2.0 . This means that these wallpapers can also be enjoyed on existing Samsung Bada handsets like Samsung Wave S8500 , S8530 ( wave 2 ) and ofcourse the upcoming wave 3 (s8600 )

What's more- you can now also change your homescreens just like in Android . For example - you can now unlock your phone by connecting dots in a particular fashion  .

Bada 2.0 firmware available for download

Finally the Bada 2.0  firmwares for Samsung wave s8500 and s8530 have been put up for download. However these are not official releases .These have been leaked up on the internet by some Bada engineers working for Samsung in Korea . these download are available for both Samsung wave S8500 and S8530 (wave 2) .
Note:These are beta roms so all features may not be bug free. We have personally found following features to be working .

Samsung wave 3 Indian launch announced

Samsung has announced the launch date for wave 3 in India . According to Samsung India executive the phone would be launched in India on 27th of October .
Besides the bada OS 2.0, this handset is will be equipped with a 1.4 GHz single core processor, 4-inch super AMOLED display (yes! ) and a 5-megapixel rear camera with front facing VGA camera for video calls over 3G . This phone sports a 3GB internal memory. Further you can expand memory till 64 gb using the microSD card slot. It is GPS/Glonass enabled ( including A-gps ) and also includes the latest Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi-network a/b/g/n . The battery is large too at 1,500mAh capacity.
This phone will be named gt-8600 and is expected to actually cost around 1800 rs on launch in India (official Indian MRP is rs.19600)

Dual boot Android on Samsung Wave

After many fakes a team of developers managed to run perfectly in the Android Wave Samsung S8500. There is even a tutorial on how to perform procedures with the firmware installation, but we will not publish it until the system is fully stable and functional.

The good news is that it will work on Dual-Boot, ie is it possible to run both the Bada as Android.If you dont beleive it just check out the video.
During my testing, I managed to get it to work with some tweaks in tne init.rc However i had to disable audio and it's still not very stable.This makes Bada platform even more interesting.

Bada 2.0 screenshots leaked

yes guys , signs of imminent bada 2.0 relese have come . bada 2.0 screenshots have been leaked on the web.

Besides  better new looks, the home-screen UI concept has also changed in this version  as there are now  only two home-screen panes. The first change  is the widget section (highlighted with a circle), while the second is  your regular shortcuts. The widgets section is scrollable as before . This version is expected to arrive in July . Asia will get it first folllowed by Europe. Here is a video of bada 2.0 in action too -

Cricket Score Widget for wave and bada

Hello friends. This is a widget which enables you to get live cricket scores on your Samsung Wave and bada phones. Google Maps for Samsung Wave and Bada download

hello friends.now  there is 3rd good news of this week. Google maps for bada has been launched.This version is compatible with Samsung wave s8500 , s8530 , wave 533 . During my test the application ran very smoothly.

The highlighting features of this version are-

Navigation (Beta) Get free, turn-by-turn GPS navigation with voice guidance for driving or walking directions.
•  Places with Hotpot Find nearby places with the Places icon. You can also rate the places to get personalized recommendations from users like you.
•  3D Maps New! Explore the map in 3D. With two fingers, drag down to tilt and see 3D buildings where available; twist to rotate (on supported devices).
  However one flaw I noted was that it did not change orientation with screen. This although is a java version but it has been modified by well known Bada dev.- dery35rt to make it run smoothly in bada for wave series of phones.

Samsung Bada 2.0 launch announced for July

Samsung India has revealed that Bada 2.0 will be introduced in India in July ,2011 .
Samsung India is heavily touting for its own mobile operating system Bada. Approximately 10 months have passed since the company first introduced Bada .Now there is already an updated version of this operating system, Bada 2.0, will be released around July this year.

The Samsung announcement executive also claims that Samsung has sold Bada powered handsets in number similar to sales of Android handsets in India.He further stated that will bada 2.0 . Samsung aims to capture 30 % smartphone market by year end.
There is a video proof here which show the Samsung Wave I and II running bada 2.0 On the whole the OS looks pretty good and looks to be in advanced and final stages. Also Samsung has confirmed that bada 2.0 is compatible with the original Wave.. Bada 2.0 has a number of new features which put it on a par with Android. These include multitasking, NFC support and a new version of TouchWiz ( TouchWiz 4 ).

2. According to some high placed sources at Samsung , the date for India launch has been shifted to December with the rest of Asia. This occured due to some bugs discovered in Bada 2.0 that caused crashing of device while browsing the net.

Samsung playing huge gamble on bada

Samsung Mobile India is gambling big on its system relish smartphone operating (OS), Bada. This is almost 10 months since the company introduced Bada and she came with an upgraded version of its OS 2.0 called Bada around July this year, which will enhance its features like having an interactive user interface and ease more developers to develop applications for it. "We currently have a market share of 10-15% in the smartphone segment in India, and Bada, we are targeting a 30% share in this segment of this calendar year," said Dipesh Shah, R & D head Samsung Mobile. "Bada, meaning ocean in Korean, is a driving force in realizing the vision of a Samsung smartphone for everyone," said Shah.

So far, Samsung Mobile has about five models in Bada, which range between Rs. 8,500 to Rs. 18.499 . Symbian OS is the most widely used in India  with a market share of about 37%, followed by Android with a piece of 22%. According to Gartner, smartphone sales to end users increased by 72.1% from 2009 and accounted for 19% of total sales of mobile communication equipment in 2010 which stood at 1.6 billion. Samsung Mobile sold close to a million devices Bada in the third quarter of 2010, and 6.6 million Android phones, making Android Samsung top seller.

In India, the company sells the same number of devices Bada as it does for Android and denied sharing any numbers on it. "We've seen a good attraction for Bada equipment in India. I see the beginning of this OS as a powerful opportunity for developers in India," said Shah. 

R & D Center in Bangalore, which is the largest outside Korea, has close to about 2,000 engineers working on this platform and developing applications for it. Samsung Mobile has 14 R & D centers in total. "About 30% of Bada requirements were developed by this R & D center in India. It is the only smartphone OS that works on a single processor. In the future we will have more devices in Bada," he added.

Explaining how Bada is different from other OS, Shah said that this OS provides a feature rich, 'open' platform which provides an easy interface, simple and intuitive user without compromising efficiency, it is developer-friendly that enables developers to implement various services without extra effort. "Also, the flexibility of the platform Bada makes applicable to a wide range of devices than any other mobile operating system," he added. Lets see how far Samsung can go wuith this gamble ?

Now finally a working application that can download youtube videos has arrived. This app is called Video Keeper  . This app can download videos from Youtube in upto 720 p (HD) resolution to video folder of your phone.
Earlier this app was available too but at that time the application was called Youtube Downloader HD.

Picsel Smart Office for Bada updated to 1.5

Picsel UK Ltd, a manufacturer of business productivity applications, today announced the launch of the new version of Smart Office version 1.5 for Bada  smartphones  and other platforms.
The newer version of application allows you to work on any Office document (Word / Excel / PowerPoint) and reading PDF documents with an incredible performance due to  pre-rendering in the phone's memory.This application can view , edit and create documents .

  Another new feature is ability to upload files to Dropbox, to allow other people to access existing files with their respective devices.
 It will enable a better view of the file explorer, will the selection of content (text, image, cell area) .
A similar integration is currently testing for Google Docs, tells Picsel Marketing Manager Zubair Salim.

This means you create and upload a file on your Samsung Wave and your friend can view and edit it on his Samsung Galaxy. In addition , this latest version of Smart Office will also be able to handle the formatting of numbers and calculations
 in Excel, open a document from an attachment post, change your PowerPoint slides, will introduce the "undo".

Angry Birds by Rovio Mobile is one of the most successful games of 2010. It already had enormous success on iPhone and Android. Seeing this the developer has announced availability for even PC windows and Mac, and then even Bada.
In  Angry Birds , players  attempt to take control of a group of birds that attempt to retrieve eggs that have been stolen by a gang of evil greenish  pigs.

Opera mini 6 available for download

Opera Software ASA  has announced further one more update to its series of Opera  Mini and Mobile browsers, thus bringing up their version numbers to 6 and 11 respectively.

Opera isn't saying much about what the new features will be coming with these numbers , except for stating  that there will also be a version optimized for Android tablets and the iPad. Opera mini 6 has also improved  support for various  new web protocols and standards -- including upgraded support for the W3C Web Open Font Format (WOFF) and Google's new WebP  image protocol , along with HTML 5 support..

Samsung hiring Nokia engineers for Bada

 Here is a good news for bada users. Samsung has decidedly made up it's mind to hire Symbian developers from Nokia as a part of it's strategy to Steer forward its flagship OS ,the bada beyond 2.0

Samsung lure seems to be trying to come to Nokia engineers unhappy with the company's recent strategic shift (to microsoft's windows 7) and work with their own operating system from Samsung system, reports Reuters.
Nokia announced in February that it use Windows Mobile as its main smartphone platform,which signaled a departure from the company's own Symbian operating system. The Finnish mobile phone giant said  on Wednesday that it begin consultation about the new strategy with the unions to  predict the outcome of  the loss of 5,000 in Finland as a consequence of the decision.

Other companies can take to the disenchantment among high-skilled labor Nokia, Samsung as an unofficial newsletter played. "If you're a Symbian developer unhappy about the recent announcement by Nokia, and therefore to show in search of a new platform for their talent, say" Hi! "And" Bada (operating system) are welcome, "said a newsletter written by a Indian unit of Samsung-developers on the web. "If you are new developments in the Bada, or move your application from Symbian, we want to welcome you." Bada is Samsung's platform for mobile phones in the mid to low range smartphone market.
Samsung said that the newsletter is not a formal announcement. It was sent to a worker at an event in India, and that the company did not hire strategically from Nokia.
