After breaking the 1 million units  barrier with the highly-acclaimed Galaxy S , Samsung has just announced that another one of its devices reached the same barrier in Europe, Samsung Wave.

The key featuers of this amazing phone are  Samsung Wave comes with a 3.3-inch Super AMOLED display, runs on a  1GHz processor, features a 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, a microSD card slot for extra storage,

Samsung will not make new symbian phones

Yes, Samsung has divorced symbian. Samsung had already dropped strong hints they would not support this generation of Symbian smartphones, and has now confirmed the news, far behind a similar announcement from Sony Ericsson, and in the same week that the Korean giant said it would launch Windows Phone 7 phones before the end of the year

Last week Sony Ericsson was also reported to stop developing smartphones powered by Symbian OS.

Nokia, which is still the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, is now the only top-tier handset manufacturer supporting Symbian operating system.

Like his Korean compatriot LG, Samsung will now focus all its efforts in the emerging smartphone market based on the relatively new Android and WP7, leaving Nokia (and other Japanese vendors) as supporters of the open source Symbian reworked ^ 3. Samsung is also investing heavily in its home grown platform, Bada.
Samsung said it would stop supporting Symbian at the end of this year, in a note on the website of its development program, Samsung Mobile Innovator. Innovator said " we will leave your Symbian support service on  December 31, 2010 .... Registration and certification of Symbian applications for warehouse applications Samsung will cease."

Top 6 Bada apps for the Samsung Wave

Samsung has released the list of top 6 applications with games and themes downloaded for Bada (Samsung Wave) this month.
It’s not any surprise that the racing games will be at top.Yes, the  “Need For Speed” continues to remain at the top spot on SamsungApps as it’s one of the only mainstream developers to create an app. Samsung themselves have been putting more emphasis on Google’s Android platform with the release of the Galaxy S series of devices. However, it’s never bad to recognize what is popular with those who opted to be different by choosing Samsung Wave (which runs of the Bada OS 1.2 now ). Here are the top 6 apps
1. Need For Speed™ Shift – Electronic Arts

2. Magic Torch – Magic App’s- Amazing app. It lets you use your phone camera led as a torch.

samsung wave successor- wave 2 s8530 has arrived

Samsung launches the big brother of the Wave - The Wave II has almost the same features, but a larger display.
Beware of its naming convention though, since some people might mistake it to be the Wave 2 S5250 by accident.

Samsung S8530 Wave II is a real bargain. The screen grew to 3.7-inches and all the great features have been retained. And we thought only the naming scheme for Nokia was a mess.
Samsung S8500 wave was impressive phone - the first SuperAMOLED we have seen quite an impression on us and other features were very high too. The next two Bada phones sought a wider market with mid-range features, so understandably they did not live up to its predecessor.

Samsung S8530 Wave II Bud OS brings back high-class - 3.7 inch screen WVGA screen, but Samsung has made the switch to "Super Clear LCD".

This model will feature a Super Clear LCD display instead of Super AMOLED, which is further confirmation that Samsung is suffering from AMOLED production problems .
Original wave was one of the first phones with Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi B / G / N. Samsung S8530 Wave II has those, too. He also received the same 1-GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and video capture 720p.
It turns out that wave II is working Bada OS v1.2, which adds a few minor updates, including over-support-Air updates and Swype-like text

input method is called Nuance T9 Trace. By the way, the leak Bada 1.2 shows firmware that the new features (plus improved performance) on the way to the owners of the original w

samsung wave and galaxy production stopped !

Samsung runs out of SUPER AMOLEDs and halted top Galaxy S and Wave production simply because All Super AMOLED displays have been bought by Apple

We’ve got some interesting piece of news coming from Moscow Russia today, from Mobile-review’s editor Eldar Murtazin.

According to him , the Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Wave S8500 are no longer in production anymore, because Samsung has not enough super AMOLED screens left.
The Wave should be replaced with a new model that features a bigger, Super TFT screen, while all its other features will remain the same. This will enable poorer screen to be compensated by more size and not force samsung to decrease the cost of phone

As for the Galaxy S, it’s said that Samsung doesn’t have any ready substitute for it at the moment, although the smart phone “contract carrier versions” ( meaning the Vibrant, Captivate, and Fascinate) will still continue to be in production “due to contract obligations.”

Assuming this is true how could have Samsung ran out of Super AMOLED displays.
